The theme for NPMUN 2018 is ‘Our World, We Protect’. Through this theme, we would like to encourage delegates to develop their potential in diplomacy as we believe that everyone has the potential to protect our world through cooperation and discussion. We welcome delegates of all experience levels, be it novices or veterans. For seasoned delegates, we hope that NPMUN can be a challenge to yourself by leading the council debate and using your confidence to interact and guide other delegates.
If you look at the theme colours of NPMUN 2018, it is blue, yellow and orange. Blue has a cool and calming tone and signifies peace and stability. We hope for delegates to learn the value of peace through diplomacy. Peace cannot always be attained diplomatically unless the parties involved are willing to compromise and listen. The passing of a resolution during the council sessions is entirely dependent on every delegate's will to speak and the way they carry on the session. As a delegate, can you protect your nation's interests, yet support the cause that you ally with? It all depends.
Yellow, bright and spiffy, is light and signifies happiness, liveliness, optimism, intellect and energy. We hope that all participating delegates come to NPMUN brimming with energy to debate and exercise their skills. It is okay to be scared and unsure if you are new, because if you come with the heart to learn, you gain the most from that council session and from fellow delegates. We also hope that the delegates leave NPMUN with something new and with the joy of meeting new friends and having fun.
Orange - the warmth from the sun near its rising and setting. It signifies creativity, cheerfulness and liberal views (being open to new ideas). It is with hope that delegates run their creative juices to throw out unique ideas to resolutions, keep an open mind to the views of others and stay cheerful throughout the two-day conference.
These colours are not put there without reason. The organising committee hopes that each delegate finishes MUN with the above takeaways. We sincerely hope that NPMUN will be a fun and memorable experience for all delegates! The organising committee will do its best to create a wonderful MUN for everyone, but it is also up to you, the delegate, to create memories you can treasure from this conference.
